Our Dossier is Complete!

Finally, we have completed all of our paperwork for the dossier. All of the required documents have been notarized and authenticated by the State Department. Our international agency now has to have the documents translated into Chinese for submission to the China Center for Adoption Affairs. This is the government agency over in China which approves all foreign adoptions. We will be waiting for them to log us into their system. After we are logged in, it could be up to a year before we have the referral for our daughter. We have lots of waiting ahead of us which will require patience. It is a long road, but we are still very excited to bring our little girl home.

Congratulations on finishing all your paperwork. Let the translations begin!! Maya Lin -- what a precious name! I know this must be thrilling and frustrating all at the same time, but now your part of the initial process is finally wrapping up. Sheila, a passport hold? How mysterious!

Thanks for inviting me to the blog. I've been wondering how everything was progressing. When Maya comes to Atlanta to visit Aunt Tracy, she can have a mountain excursion with cousin Alisa, whose about 2 1/2 hours north in North Carolina.

Congratulations again!

Peace, Alisa
