Red Couch Pictures

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Today was a free day.  The only thing we had to do was take pictures with our group.  It's a tradition at the White Swan Hotel to take photos of all the children from the group on the Red Velvet Couch.  All of the parents dress their kids in traditional Chinese attire.  We had a hard time finding one small enough for Maya.  Luckily we did this morning.  We took photos for about an hour, then split up to do our own thing.  Sheila and I went to lunch with our friends, Dan and Vickie.  It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside and enjoyed the afternoon.
Tonight, we went on a River Boat Cruise with most of the group.  A couple of the families chose not to go.  We had dinner, not that great, then went up to the top deck to sight see Guangzhou from the Pearl River.  It was an amazing sight to see the city from this vantage point.  Almost all of the bridges and buildings have colored lights all over them.  Some of the buildings even had TV screens displayed on the entire side of the building.  I've never seen anything like it.
Tonight, Maya was being fussy as we tried to get her ready for bed.  All day she was great, but I think she was getting over tired fro all the activity.  Finally, she's in the crib, sound asleep.   Today, I shot about 90 pictures.  The ones posted show the streets of Shamian Island in Guangzhou, The White Swan Hotel at night from the River Boat, a picture of the kids dressed in their Chinese outfits on the red couch, and some family photos.

Hope you enjoy!  See you all soon!
Love, Maya, Sheila & Tim

I love the red couch tradition! Almost time to come home - the pictures of you guys as a family are precious. Logan had her 4 mos check up today and she weighed 13 lbs, so that put Maya's tiny body in perspective. Safe travels! Laura

The pictures are wonderful. You all look so happy! When you get home, things will be even better as you introduce Maya to her family. What a lucky little girl.
I look forward to meeting Maya when the time is right.
Best wishes to you all!
