Update on Maya

Wow.  I can't believe it.  Maya, slept all the way through the night and is still sleeping now.  It is 6:15 am and the caregivers said she would sleep until 6:00.  Tim and I have been up for awhile and decided that we should probably let her sleep.  She had a big day yesterday.  It was about a 2-1/2 hour bus ride to Nanning from her orphanage.
Maya likes to suck on her left wrist while she sleeps.  She has a little redness and marks where she sucks.  We hope we can get her to substitute this with a Nuk because we worry that she may scar her wrist.
We plan to give her some prunes today to help with constipation.  Our guide said bananas, but we were a little leery since we thought that would bind her up.  (Thanks Sam for reassuring us.)  We don' think Maya has had much variety in her diet while living in the orphanage.  I think she has only had formula with rice cereal and different kinds of congee.  Hopefully the prunes will help.
Uh Oh!, She's awake.  Here we go!

Oh, I am so glad you read my post before feeding her the bananas. It might not take much either, sometimes her nervousness can also cause constipation, so in a few days she may be just fine. What a good baby, she sleeps through the night and she even did so for your first night together, this has so far gone perfectly! I'm so happy for all of you. Have fun with her today!!!!! I am checking your blog constantly for new updates and pictures. Love, Sam
