Zaoshang hao ( good morning)

Ni Hao.  It's 4:30am and we slept much better tonight.  I can't believe how much fun we are having!  Everyone at this hotel is so nice to us.  I made a couple of friends here.  One is the doorman and his name is Allen, the other is the bell boy and his name is Jordan.  When they see me they wave and say hi Sheila!  They love to come up to me and talk.  They are super nice guys.  Their English is very good.  So we talk and they like to learn more about me and what are the English words for stuff.  It's fun!
I'm having a great time learning about so many different things here.  Then last night it hit me why we are really here.  We get our sweet baby girl in 2 days!  These past 3 days have felt more like a vacation to me, which Tim says is good because that means I'm getting more relaxed.
I'm a little disappointed in myself.  I have always dreamed about seeing the Great Wall and I couldn't do it!  It is so much bigger and steeper then it looks in books!  It was magnificent and the view was beautiful.  I was totally proud of how far Tim got and I'm sure on the video you can see how steep it was.  We are flying out this afternoon to Nanning after we go to the Forbidden city.  That means, only one more night without Maya, then we will have our forever family!
Miss you and love you

P.S.  A lot of people have asked me if I'am Chinese!  I say "no, I'm American".  They say, you Chinese American?  It's kinda weird.  Tim laughed a little yesterday when this guy kept asking me that!  Just thought this was kinda funny.  Zai jian (goodbye)

I'm literally bawling I'm so excited for you guys! I got on to send the link to Alisa and I had no idea that you would be able to post while you were there. The pictures are amazing. We are so proud of you both. Only you would make so many friends so far from home Sheila! The best of luck meeting Maya - I can't even imagine what you are feeling. She is a very lucky little girl. Her new life starts very soon and it will change her forever. Laura

Hi Sheila and Tim. Sounds like so much fun. I am so happy that you are both having a great time. Told ya, you'd end up at McDonald's at some point. Was it the same as home????? Sheila, I bet your new friends at the hotel love you! I have to admit, that I too thought you were of Asian decent when I first met you. So I am not surprised that so many people in China are asking you. I am getting so excited for you guys for "Gotcha Day". Hope you do get internet access so we can see some pics of the new family! Have a safe trip and stand your ground at the airport and boarding the plane! Sam

Hey guys,

You look like you are having the time of your lives over there. So happy for all the adventures you get to have before the adventure of parenthood! I also have been asked if I'm Chinese (odd, I'm almost 100% Norwegian), and laugh now that our Ethiopian son may be half Chinese. Can't wait to see you holding Maya!
